Grove Finance, a new institutional-grade credit protocol within the Sky ecosystem, has officially launched on Avalanche, signaling a major leap for onchain finance. With up to $250 million in real-world assets (RWAs) earmarked for deployment, the initiative is set to enhance Avalanche’s role as a core hub for tokenized financial products.

Targeting institutional adoption, Grove’s infrastructure is designed to accelerate the use of the decentralized stablecoin USDS. The protocol’s launch aims to activate scalable credit markets by leveraging tokenized RWAs, offering yield exposure through products such as U.S. Treasuries, institutional funds, and public equity.

According to Grove’s announcement, the rollout will be supported by industry leaders including Centrifuge and Janus Henderson—a global asset manager with $373 billion in AUM. “This deployment proves that complex, large-scale credit strategies can be run natively onchain,” said Morgan Krupetsky, vice president of onchain finance at Ava Labs. He emphasized the synergy between Grove’s capital infrastructure, Centrifuge’s asset tokenization expertise, and Avalanche’s high-performance blockchain.

Grove’s strategy focuses on delivering seamless access to credit markets for decentralized autonomous organizations (DAOs), asset managers, and protocol-native treasuries. The founding team comprises veterans from Deloitte, Citigroup, and BlockTower, aiming to capture a portion of the growing multi-trillion-dollar RWA opportunity.

Mark Phillips, co-founder of Grove Labs, praised Avalanche as a strategic partner: “Avalanche’s long-term vision for real-world assets and proven onchain operating history make them the perfect partner for Grove’s institutional credit infrastructure.”

The partnership brings with it a suite of upcoming RWA products, including the Janus Henderson Anemoy AAA CLO Fund and the Janus Henderson Anemoy Treasury Fund. These offerings will join an ecosystem on Avalanche that already hosts BlackRock’s BUIDL and Franklin Templeton’s BENJI—U.S. Treasuries tokenized onchain.

Beyond this launch, Avalanche continues to attract serious players in institutional finance. In May, VanEck debuted its digital asset alpha fund on the chain, while Watr announced a $20 trillion onchain commodities market initiative in April.

With Grove’s $250 million commitment, Avalanche strengthens its position at the forefront of DeFi’s institutionalization, paving the way for programmable credit to become a key pillar of next-generation blockchain finance.
