The MyDoge wallet, the DogeOS application layer and the payments-focused Such App now sit under one organization: Dogecoin Labs, announced on October 21, 2026. Its stated goal is to move DOGE into payments, DeFi, gaming and consumer apps.

The Dogecoin Foundation backs the group, which is described as a joint effort between the Foundation and House of Doge. Jordan Jefferson, who co-founded both MyDoge and DogeOS, serves as CEO.

What each project does

MyDoge has more than 500,000 users. Its V3 update is designed to integrate apps built on DogeOS.

DogeOS is a zero-knowledge rollup that supports Ethereum-compatible smart contracts and lets developers use Dogecoin to pay transaction fees. The project raised $6.9 million in a seed round in May 2025, led by Polychain Capital.

Such App is built around self-custodial wallets and in-person QR code payments in DOGE. Some early beta features are live.

Testnet is live, mainnet is not

DogeOS opened its public testnet, named Chikyū, on September 30, 2026, as covered in our report on the DogeOS testnet launch. Projects on the testnet reportedly include lending protocols, liquidity management tools, perpetual trading and stablecoin products.

No timeline has been announced for a DogeOS mainnet.

Dogecoin Labs says it intends to expand functionality while preserving the integrity and simplicity of the original Dogecoin ledger.

What it means

Dogecoin's base ledger has always been deliberately simple, with no native smart contract support. As a result, DOGE has largely sat out the lending, trading and stablecoin markets built on other networks. Building that activity on a separate rollup layer, rather than on the base chain, fits the organization's stated aim of leaving the original ledger intact.

The DeFi use cases remain unproven. Utility only shows up in the numbers when users actually transact, and none of that happens on a testnet. With no mainnet date and Such App still in early beta, the launch is for now an organizational consolidation rather than a measurable shift in DOGE usage.
