Strive discloses 3,311 BTC purchase, lifting holdings to 32,773 BTC
Strive's October 13 Form 8-K shows it bought 3,311 bitcoin from October 5 to 9 at about $84,500 each. Holdings now total 32,773 BTC, fifth among public companies per Bitcoin Treasuries data cited by The Block.
Strive, Inc. (Nasdaq: ASST) disclosed in a Form 8-K dated October 13, 2026, that it bought 3,311 bitcoin from October 5 through October 9. The purchase lifts its holdings to 32,773 BTC, which ranks fifth among public-company bitcoin holders, according to Bitcoin Treasuries data cited by The Block.
What the filing shows
Strive, a Nevada-incorporated company based in Dallas, paid an average of approximately $84,500 per bitcoin, inclusive of fees and expenses. Its holdings table shows 29,462 BTC on October 2 and 32,773 BTC on October 9. The Block describes the company as Vivek Ramaswamy-founded and says it has accumulated bitcoin through at-the-market programs, follow-on offerings and 5,886 BTC from initial PIPE proceeds and exchange activity.
The dollar figure
The 8-K does not state a total cost. The $280 million figure reported by The Block is derived: 3,311 BTC times about $84,500 is roughly $279.8 million. At the live bitcoin price of $83,226.50 (14:04 UTC, October 13), the tranche is worth about $275.6 million. That is about 1.5% below Strive's average cost for the week.
How it was funded
The filing does not name a funding source. Cash and equivalents rose $25.6 million, from $284.7 million to $310.3 million, over the same week. Between the October 2 and October 9 columns, Class A shares outstanding rose by 9,461,103 to 101,169,907, and SATA preferred shares rose by 532,094 to 14,030,176. Shares underlying traditional warrants fell by 7,993,806 to 15,255,900. The filing says share counts include shares sold through 4:00pm EST on the reporting date, so they cannot be tied precisely to the Oct 5–9 purchase.
The Block reports that Strive funds its bitcoin strategy largely through SATA, which it says carries a 13% annualized dividend paid daily. Strive also held 505,000 shares of Strategy's STRC preferred stock, with a fair value of $50.328 million as of October 9, unchanged in share count from October 2.
Where Strive ranks
Using Bitcoin Treasuries data, The Block lists Strategy (848,250 BTC), Metaplanet (44,000), Twenty One (43,514) and MARA (35,577) ahead of Strive. Strive trails MARA by about 2,804 BTC and Metaplanet by 11,227 BTC.
Context
The Block calls this Strive's largest increase in holdings since January, when it acquired roughly 5,048 BTC through its all-stock merger with Semler Scientific. The 8-K itself makes no such claim.
The Block also reports that CEO Matt Cole has said the aim is to finish 2026 as the second-largest public bitcoin holder. By The Block's calculation, that would require about 990 BTC per week on average, assuming Metaplanet buys nothing more.
What to watch
Future 8-K holdings tables will show whether Strive sustains a pace near the roughly 990 BTC per week The Block says second place requires, and how share issuance changes and whether the 15,255,900 shares underlying traditional warrants are exercised.
