S&P Global Leads Strategic Investment in Kaiko, Extending Series B to $110 Million

New York and Paris, September 14, 2026. S&P Global has made a strategic investment in Kaiko, extending the crypto data infrastructure company's Series B round to $110 million. The investment values Kaiko at an estimated $500 million to $750 million and marks a significant entry by a tier-one financial intelligence provider into institutional crypto market data infrastructure.

Kaiko, founded in 2014 and headquartered in Paris, provides real-time and historical market data across spot, derivatives, and on-chain markets to institutional investors, exchanges, and regulators. The company's data infrastructure covers thousands of trading pairs across major centralized and decentralized venues, serving clients who require auditable, low-latency market data for trading, compliance, and risk management.

The investment arrives as crypto markets have reached $2.8 trillion in total capitalization, up 45% year-to-date in 2026. Institutional participation has accelerated across multiple fronts: Deutsche Börse acquired a $200 million stake in Kraken in April 2026, Tether and Fasanara Capital launched a $400 million private credit fund on blockchain rails in September, and Coinbase integrated crypto trading access for Webull's 25 million users.

S&P Global serves financial professionals across its ratings, indices, and market intelligence divisions in more than 160 countries. Integrating Kaiko's crypto data into existing S&P Global enterprise workflows could expand Kaiko's institutional reach, embedding crypto market data alongside fixed income, equities, and commodities data that institutional clients already consume.

Kaiko's chief executive stated that the partnership accelerates the company's product roadmap across three areas: derivatives data coverage, regulatory surveillance tools, and data infrastructure for tokenized real-world assets.

The market opportunity extends beyond current crypto trading volumes. Regulatory mandates for real-time market surveillance are expanding across the US, EU, and Asia-Pacific, creating recurring compliance-driven demand for exchange-grade data. Tokenized real-world asset markets, backed by a $1.2 trillion private credit market now moving onto blockchain rails, will require comparable data quality standards to those governing traditional securities markets.

Kaiko competes in a market that includes CoinGecko, which reaches more than 50 million monthly active users through a freemium model, Messari's research-driven institutional platform, and Glassnode's on-chain analytics products. Kaiko differentiates on data depth, institutional service-level agreements, and cross-exchange surveillance capabilities.
