Ripple and SettleMint Partner to Provide Banks Integrated Tokenized Asset Infrastructure

San Francisco, CA and Brussels, Belgium, September 1, 2026. Ripple and SettleMint have announced a strategic partnership to deliver integrated, compliance-ready infrastructure for financial institutions seeking to participate in tokenized asset markets. The collaboration combines Ripple's XRP Ledger payment rails with SettleMint's enterprise blockchain platform, creating a unified entry point for banks targeting the estimated $4–5 trillion tokenized real-world asset market projected by 2030.

The partnership addresses what both companies identify as the primary barrier to institutional adoption: the absence of a single, compliant infrastructure stack that connects payment settlement, asset tokenization, and regulatory reporting. Banks currently face fragmented vendor relationships, inconsistent compliance frameworks, and significant technical integration costs when attempting to deploy tokenized asset programs independently.

"Financial institutions are ready to move from pilot programs to production deployment," said Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse. "This partnership gives banks the infrastructure certainty they need to commit capital and resources to tokenized asset strategies at scale."

SettleMint CEO Matthew Van Niekerk added: "Our 50-plus enterprise clients have been asking for exactly this — a compliant, scalable path to tokenized assets that doesn't require building from scratch. Ripple's payment rails and XRP Ledger infrastructure complete that picture."

Market Timing and Institutional Context

The announcement follows a series of institutional developments that have accelerated demand for tokenized asset infrastructure. BlackRock launched its BSTBL and BRSRV tokenized money market funds in August 2026, with initial deployment targets of $50–200 billion. Visa expanded stablecoin settlement access to its network of 70-plus million merchants in June 2026. Vietnam announced a regulated cryptocurrency market framework in August 2026, with full implementation expected between Q4 2026 and Q2 2027.

According to Deloitte's 2026 Global Blockchain Survey, 65% of global banks plan to launch tokenized asset initiatives by 2027. The Ripple-SettleMint platform targets mid-tier and regional banks that lack the internal resources to build compliant infrastructure independently.

The XRP Ledger currently processes 2.5 million daily transactions with $2.8 billion in DeFi total value locked. XRP trades at $2.85 as of September 1, 2026, reflecting a 145% year-to-date gain and a $155 billion market capitalization.

Platform Architecture and Use Cases

The integrated platform combines SettleMint's low-code blockchain development environment with Ripple's On-Demand Liquidity corridors, now active across 40-plus countries. Banks can deploy tokenized securities, commodities, and real estate instruments through a single interface, with compliance modules aligned to the EU's MiCA regulation and frameworks under development in Singapore, Hong Kong, and Vietnam.

The partnership's phased rollout begins with pilot deployments in Q4 2026, targeting five to ten financial institutions across Europe and Asia-Pacific. Full commercial availability is planned for Q1 2027, with the Vietnam regulated market launch representing a key regional milestone in Q2 2027.

Custody, settlement finality, and regulatory reporting are handled within the integrated stack, reducing the vendor coordination burden that has slowed institutional deployment timelines.

Roadmap and Expansion

The partnership will prioritize MiCA compliance certification in Q1 2027, enabling broader European bank participation. Singapore and Hong Kong regulatory approvals for tokenized assets, expected in Q4 2026 and Q1 2027 respectively, create additional Asia-Pacific demand the partnership is positioned to serve through Ripple's existing regional ODL infrastructure.

The companies have set a target of 50-plus bank clients and $100 billion in tokenized asset settlement volume by Q4 2027.
