Janus Henderson, Centrifuge launch Nasdaq-100 fund JQQQ on Stellar
Janus Henderson and Centrifuge launched JQQQ, a fund tracking the Nasdaq-100 and issued natively on Stellar. It is closed to U.S. persons, and the release gives no fee rate or subscription start date, per Unchained.
Janus Henderson and Centrifuge launched JQQQ, according to Unchained's report of October 27, 2026. The fund aims to track the Nasdaq-100 Index and is issued directly on the Stellar network. It is closed to U.S. persons, and the release gives no fee rate or subscription start date, according to Unchained.
Unchained reported the launch at 9:48 am ET. This brief relies on its account of the joint Business Wire release, which we did not open.
What was announced
Per Unchained, JQQQ will be offered only on Stellar. The companies call it the first blockchain-native fund to give investors Nasdaq-100 exposure through an issuer-sponsored strategy. That is their own claim, and it has not been independently verified.
Nasdaq licenses the index. Centrifuge provides the technology used to issue and operate the fund onchain.
Structure and access
JQQQ's legal notes place it inside Anemoy Capital SPC Limited, a segregated portfolio company registered in the British Virgin Islands. Anemoy Asset Management Limited is the investment manager. Janus Henderson Investors US LLC is the sub-investment manager.
The fund is not available to U.S. persons. It is open only to eligible investors in jurisdictions where it can lawfully be offered and marketed. Crypto Briefing describes it as limited for now to eligible non-U.S. professional investors, but this outlet saw only a search excerpt and could not confirm the wording.
The release describes the fees as competitive but gives no rate. According to Unchained, it lists no minimum investment, custodian or subscription start date. Some secondary reports cite a minimum investment, which conflicts with Unchained's reading of the release. We could not confirm either.
Composability depends on third parties
The partners say onchain issuance could let JQQQ shares plug into other onchain applications and feed programmable portfolios. The shares could possibly serve as collateral for lending.
The legal notes say any collateral or lending uses would come from independent third parties. Those uses would sit outside Janus Henderson's management of the fund. They are not offered, facilitated or endorsed by Janus Henderson.
Centrifuge's Anil Sood said in the release: "Tokenization becomes much more powerful when the assets investors want to own can also become building blocks for an onchain financial system."
Context
Nick Cherney, Janus Henderson's head of innovation, said the firm is a top-five global provider of tokenized funds. He said in the release that its onchain platform now includes more than $1 billion in institutional strategies across U.S. Treasuries, structured credit and public equities. Both are company claims quoted by Unchained and not independently verified.
Unchained also reports that Centrifuge and Janus Henderson put the Janus Henderson Anemoy S&P 500 Fund onchain on Base in September 2026. This outlet could not verify that independently. In the release, Nasdaq's Sean Wasserman said demand continues to grow for exposure to established, transparent benchmarks, per Unchained.
The release says real-world assets on Stellar exceed $4 billion, a figure this outlet could not verify. Stellar's DeFi TVL on DefiLlama was $229.26 million on October 27, 2026. That measures something different from the release's RWA figure, so the two should not be compared.
Why it matters
JQQQ adds a Nasdaq-100 fund to Janus Henderson's onchain lineup, which the company says already spans U.S. Treasuries, structured credit and public equities, including an S&P 500 fund per Unchained. Per the legal notes, any collateral or lending uses would depend on third-party integrations.
The release, as relayed by Unchained, gives no investor demand data. Fees, the subscription start date and any third-party collateral integrations are the main items to watch.
