Infosys Partners with Chainlink to Bring Onchain Finance to 1.7 Billion Bank Accounts

Bangalore, India / San Francisco, CA — September 22, 2026. Infosys and Chainlink have announced a strategic partnership to integrate onchain finance capabilities across Infosys's global banking client network, creating a direct pathway for approximately 1.7 billion bank accounts to access blockchain-based financial services. The collaboration combines Infosys's enterprise software integration expertise across 500+ financial institutions with Chainlink's oracle infrastructure, which processes an estimated $2.3 trillion in daily transaction value.

The partnership addresses a structural gap in institutional blockchain adoption: traditional banks lack standardized, auditable mechanisms to connect legacy core banking systems to decentralized networks while maintaining regulatory compliance and settlement certainty. Under the agreement, Infosys will embed Chainlink's Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) and oracle services into its banking technology stack, enabling clients to access stablecoin settlement, tokenized asset trading, and cross-border payment rails without rebuilding core infrastructure.

Primary use cases include real-time stablecoin settlement for correspondent banking, tokenized government securities trading, and programmable cross-border payments. The 1.7 billion addressable accounts are concentrated in India, Southeast Asia, and Africa, where Infosys maintains its deepest banking relationships.

"Our banking clients have been asking for a trusted integration pathway to onchain finance for several years," said Rajesh Krishnamurthy, Infosys President of Financial Services. "This partnership gives them exactly that: battle-tested oracle infrastructure wrapped in enterprise-grade compliance and support frameworks they already rely on."

"Chainlink was built to be the connective layer between the world's financial systems and blockchain networks," said Chainlink co-founder Sergey Nazarov. "Infosys brings the enterprise relationships and integration expertise to deploy that infrastructure at a scale the industry has not seen before."

The announcement arrives amid accelerating institutional adoption across the sector. Visa expanded stablecoin settlement to 70+ million merchants in June 2026. The U.S. Office of the Comptroller of the Currency granted preliminary approval to World Liberty Financial as the first federally chartered crypto bank in August 2026. Vietnam established a regulatory framework for tokenized asset trading the same month. Enterprise blockchain spending reached $18.4 billion annually in 2026, growing 32% year-over-year, with financial services representing 41% of total investment.

Deployment will proceed in phases. Pilot programs with select Infosys banking clients are expected to begin in Q4 2026, with production deployments targeting Q2 2027. The partnership will prioritize Asia-Pacific markets initially, given the concentration of addressable accounts and supportive regulatory frameworks in Singapore, Hong Kong, and Vietnam. Infosys and Chainlink will offer pre-built integration templates and managed services to reduce client deployment timelines.
