GoMining's GoBTC Pay has released an official WooCommerce plugin that lets merchants accept Bitcoin in WordPress stores, Crypto Daily reported on 22 October 2026. The plugin is free in the official WordPress Plugin Directory and delivers one of the items GoMining's May press release promised. Its instant confirmation works only for payments from wallets inside the GoBTC Pay ecosystem.

What launched

The listing, "GoBTC Pay for WooCommerce," is published by the GoBTC Pay account and described as open source. The directory page offers version 1.1.4. The changelog lists 1.0.0 as the first public release, but the page gives no release dates. The plugin is a client for a Bitcoin payment service operated by GoMining and does not work without it.

How it works

Customers are sent to a hosted checkout operated by GoBTC Pay. The store never handles private keys, wallet software or on-chain transactions. Per the plugin page, the store sends only the order total, currency and a generated reference string.

There are two payment routes. A payment from a wallet inside the GoBTC Pay ecosystem reports as paid in one step, and the order moves to Processing or Completed. A payment from an ordinary Bitcoin wallet is seen in the mempool, and the order stays On hold until network confirmation. The page says this usually takes about 10 to 30 minutes, and longer during congestion.

Setup requires a GoBTC Pay dashboard account, a secret API key, a webhook signing secret and an API base URL. Merchants must also register a webhook endpoint and serve the store over https. Crypto Daily quotes Roman Yermoshyn, General Manager of GoBTC Pay: "With the official plugin, any WooCommerce merchant can start accepting Bitcoin in minutes, right from the WordPress dashboard they already use."

Limits

The plugin does not process refunds, which are handled outside it. It does not support subscriptions or pre-orders. It works with both the classic shortcode checkout and the Cart & Checkout Blocks checkout.

The plugin page also warns that the non-production API contour is not a sandbox. It runs on Bitcoin mainnet, so payments made against it move real BTC. Crypto Daily says GoMining is preparing instant payment confirmation specifically for GoMining Wallet customers in November 2026. That is a planned feature and has not shipped.

Background

GoMining announced GoBTC Pay on 8 May 2026 in a Chainwire press release, hosted on The Block. It described a protocol for native, instant Bitcoin payments on the base layer, with GoMining operating the reference implementation. The release promised a PoS terminal, merchant dashboard, developer SDK, and Shopify and WooCommerce plugins "in the coming months." It did not confirm whether the Shopify plugin has shipped.

The release made several company claims that are not independently verified. These include a 0.2% merchant acquiring fee against a cited 1.5% to 3.5% for US card processing, a 2-of-3 multi-signature design shared between the user, GoMining and a regulated third-party custodian, and a target of 12-hour final on-chain settlement by the end of 2026. GoMining also described itself as serving 5 million users (self-reported). October coverage does not restate the fee, so its current status is unconfirmed.

Why it matters

The plugin offers merchants a directory-listed route to Bitcoin checkout, but the hosted redirect and the need for a GoBTC Pay dashboard account remain. No adoption data was found.
