XRP Ledger Foundation Adds Flare to Recommended Validators, Drops Anodos
Flare joins the XRP Ledger Foundation's recommended validator list as Anodos Finance exits ahead of retiring its validator. The foundation's list and Ripple's now show the same 35 keys, but there is no payment, grant or product launch attached.
Flare is in and Anodos Finance is out. The XRP Ledger Foundation reshuffled its recommended validator list on Oct. 28, adding Flare and removing Anodos at Anodos' own request as it prepares to shut down its validator.
The foundation announced the change on X.
"We welcome Flare to the recommended XRP Ledger validator list,"
XRP Ledger Foundation

The foundation said Flare is aligned with XRPL's core values and participates in governance. A second post thanked Anodos for its contributions, and a separate post attributed the removal to Anodos' decision to retire its validator by the end of October. Flare, for its part, thanked the foundation and those who openly reviewed its application.

Both lists now match
The more concrete detail is in the published payloads. A check at about 8:35 p.m. UTC on Oct. 28 found 35 entries in the foundation's list (sequence 2026102701) and the same 35 keys in Ripple's list (sequence 86), with no keys unique to either. Both included a manifest with the domain xrpl-verification.flare.network.
That check measures list membership only. It does not show which configuration each server operator runs, and operators control their own UNLs (unique node lists, the validators a server trusts). The default server configuration pulls recommended lists from both the foundation and Ripple, so for nodes running defaults, the two sources now agree.
What it is not
Traders hunting for a catalyst should read the fine print. The foundation announced no payment, grant or FXRP product launch alongside the changes. XRPL documentation says validators receive no XRP rewards, so there is no direct fee or emissions angle here.
The link is strategic. Flare activated FXRP on mainnet in September 2025, and its FXRP services include vault deposits and borrowing RLUSD against XRP-linked collateral. The listing gives Flare a bigger role in the governance of the ledger whose native asset those products are built around.
Context
The change follows news that BNY now lets eligible institutions hold and transfer XRP and RLUSD. Earlier this month, developers issued a second amendment to patch the lending protocol before launch, while the original amendment awaited validator approval.
