The White House is preparing to release a groundbreaking report this Wednesday detailing the structure of a national digital asset stockpile, with XRP rumored to be included alongside Bitcoin and Ethereum. The move follows an executive order signed by President Donald Trump in March 2025 that established the Strategic Bitcoin Reserve and the broader U.S. Digital Asset Stockpile.

Crypto influencer Xaif reignited speculation over the weekend, claiming that XRP is likely to be named in the government’s reserve list. If confirmed, the report could significantly reshape the narrative around XRP, transforming it from a contested token to a state-recognized digital asset.

The executive order marked a decisive shift in federal crypto strategy. It created a dedicated Working Group on Digital Asset Markets, tasked with producing a comprehensive policy roadmap within 180 days. That deadline expires July 30, and anticipation is mounting ahead of the public release.

Unlike speculative acquisitions, the crypto assets in this stockpile are derived exclusively from law enforcement seizures and forfeitures. This distinction ensures that the initiative avoids political fallout by excluding taxpayer-funded purchases, framing the reserve as a legal repository rather than an investment strategy.

Earlier hints from President Trump on Truth Social suggested that the government was considering XRP, Solana, and Cardano, in addition to the more established Bitcoin and Ethereum. These statements sparked market rallies and renewed interest in the long-debated role of altcoins in U.S. digital infrastructure.

Should XRP make the final cut, the implications are substantial. The token’s inclusion would not only signify institutional recognition but also help distance it from its prolonged legal entanglements with the Securities and Exchange Commission. Analysts believe this could bolster XRP’s credibility in global finance, especially in cross-border payment systems where it has gained traction.

Critics, however, voice concerns over the symbolism of a federal crypto reserve. Some argue it undermines the ethos of decentralization, while others question the strategic wisdom of treating volatile assets as national reserves. Still, proponents argue that such a stockpile reflects pragmatic adaptation to digital finance, where blockchain assets play an increasingly central role.

As the July 30 deadline approaches, the crypto world is watching closely. Confirmation of XRP’s presence in the official reserve could be a watershed moment—not only for Ripple’s embattled asset but also for U.S. policy on crypto adoption and regulation.
