U.S. President Donald Trump has pocketed nearly $57.4 million from his cryptocurrency venture, World Liberty Financial (WLF), even as his administration doubles down on crypto-friendly regulation. According to a 234-page U.S. Government Ethics filing, Trump’s earnings came via token sales and ownership stakes in WLF, which operates the USD1 stablecoin protocol.

The report reveals that as of December 31, 2024, Trump "primarily owns the WLFI protocol and governance platform and related token treasury, digital wallets and intellectual property,” with operational ties anchored in Miami, Florida. He co-founded the company with real estate magnate Steven Witkoff, while his sons—Donald Jr., Eric, and Barron—hold co-founder titles.

WLF’s flagship product, the USD1 token, is a dollar-pegged stablecoin that has gained traction in 2025. Trading at $1.00 with minor volatility, USD1 boasts a market cap of $2.19 billion and daily volumes near $887 million. Backed by U.S. short-term treasuries and cash equivalents, the token is audited quarterly, enhancing its peg stability and investor trust.

This financial disclosure comes as Trump’s second presidential term fuels a strategic pivot in U.S. crypto regulation. In March 2025, he signed an executive order establishing a “Strategic Bitcoin Reserve and Digital Asset Stockpile,” aimed at positioning the United States as a global leader in blockchain and digital finance.

"Our country must be the leader in the field," Trump said in a White House fact sheet, reiterating his open support for crypto innovation. He has called for replacing outdated financial systems with blockchain-based infrastructure, pledging access and opportunity irrespective of status or geography.

World Liberty Financial embodies that vision. Its mission, according to the company, is to "unlock financial access for all" by replacing traditional banking constraints with open, on-chain alternatives. In addition to stablecoin operations, the firm profits through product sales and token-based services.

Complementing these efforts, Trump launched the $TRUMP meme coin in January 2025 to commemorate his White House return. The coin surged 230% within 24 hours, hitting a $14.3 billion market cap on the eve of his inauguration.

With WLF and $TRUMP leading his digital asset portfolio, Trump is not only reshaping U.S. crypto policy but also personally profiting from it. The dual role—both as President and crypto entrepreneur—raises questions about regulatory impartiality but also signals unprecedented state-level adoption of blockchain finance.
