Trump Media and Technology Group has introduced a new incentive program for paid users of Truth Social, its flagship social media platform, by rewarding them with Crypto.com’s native token, Cronos (CRO). The move underscores a deepening partnership between the Nasdaq-listed media company and the global cryptocurrency exchange, while reflecting Trump Media’s evolving crypto strategy.

Subscribers to the platform’s premium “Patriot Package” can now earn CRO rewards, branded as “Truth gems,” through user engagement. These tokens can be redeemed via the Crypto.com wallet, providing a tangible incentive for activity on Truth Social. Beyond token rewards, the subscription tier offers new features such as post scheduling, server-side drafts, editing functionality, and expanded search history.

The decision to integrate CRO represents a notable pivot for Trump Media. Earlier this year, CEO Devin Nunes had floated the idea of launching a proprietary utility token and digital wallet tailored to Truth Social’s ecosystem. Instead, the company has chosen to rely on CRO’s existing infrastructure, offering immediate interoperability and liquidity for its users. Analysts say the move reflects a pragmatic approach: leveraging an established token with real market value rather than building an in-house solution from scratch.

Trump Media’s partnership with Crypto.com has expanded significantly over the past several months. The companies have explored a treasury strategy centered on CRO and entered into a SPAC-backed joint venture dedicated to the Cronos ecosystem. As part of that arrangement, Trump Media agreed to purchase 684.4 million CRO tokens—valued at roughly $105 million—through a mix of cash and stock. In return, Crypto.com secured a $50 million equity stake in Trump Media, creating a mutually vested interest in each other’s growth.

Looking forward, the collaboration is set to extend into financial products. Trump Media’s financial arm, Truth.Fi, is planning to co-launch a series of digital asset exchange-traded funds focused on “Made in America” crypto assets. Pending regulatory approval, the ETFs are expected to debut later in 2025.

Despite the strategic developments, CRO’s market response has been muted. After an initial 40% rally in August when rumors of the partnership first emerged, the token has struggled to maintain momentum. The latest announcement had little immediate effect, with CRO trading sideways.

Trump Media’s embrace of CRO highlights both its ambitions in the digital asset space and its need to invigorate user engagement on Truth Social. Whether the rewards program translates into lasting growth will depend on the platform’s ability to convert token incentives into sustained community participation.
