Tools for Humanity, the organization powering the Sam Altman-backed Worldcoin ecosystem and its flagship product, World App, has announced its acquisition of Dawn Wallet, an iOS-native Ethereum wallet. The move signals a significant step toward integrating more user-friendly, AI-powered decentralized finance (DeFi) tools into the rapidly expanding World App platform.

Dawn Wallet, known for its intuitive Web3 interface and deep integration with Apple’s Secure Enclave and biometric security, will be phased out in the coming weeks. In its place, core technologies and features will be embedded directly into World App, with full user support promised during the transition. “This is both an ending and a beginning,” stated Tools for Humanity in an official announcement on its World Chain site.

The acquisition brings Dawn’s founders, Tom Waite and Isaac Rodriguez, into the Tools for Humanity team. They are expected to lead the charge in expanding World App’s financial capabilities, leveraging their expertise in designing seamless and secure blockchain tools for everyday users.

Dawn Wallet stood out in the crowded Web3 wallet space for its sleek, Safari-native design, enabling users to interact with dApps like Uniswap, Aave, and Sound.xyz without needing additional extensions or apps. It also introduced a unique conversational AI assistant, Dawn AI, which simplified crypto tasks such as checking wallet balances, simulating DeFi transactions, and fetching live data from decentralized protocols.

This acquisition is poised to turbocharge the World App’s roadmap. Tools for Humanity plans to embed Dawn’s AI-driven interface into World App, enabling natural language interaction with complex DeFi actions, such as token swaps, lending, and bridging. The aim is to lower the technical barrier for DeFi adoption and attract users who might be intimidated by traditional crypto interfaces.

World App already boasts over 10 million registered users, and the integration of Dawn’s technology could substantially expand both reach and functionality. It follows a string of strategic alliances, including collaborations with Circle’s USDC, Visa, and Match Group, underscoring the project's ambition to become a central hub for digital identity and finance.

As DeFi continues to mature, this merger highlights a growing emphasis on accessibility, AI integration, and mobile-first experiences in the crypto space. By combining Dawn’s user-centric technology with World App’s global infrastructure, Tools for Humanity is positioning itself to redefine how people interact with decentralized finance.
