Standard Chartered Lifts Ethereum Price Forecast to $7,500 for 2025, $25K by 2028
Standard Chartered raises Ethereum target to $7,500 for 2025 and $25,000 by 2028, citing institutional demand and policy tailwinds.
Standard Chartered has sharply upgraded its Ethereum (ETH) price outlook, projecting the cryptocurrency will reach $7,500 by year-end—a substantial jump from its earlier $4,000 target. The bank also raised its long-term forecast, predicting ETH will climb to $25,000 by 2028, citing stronger market fundamentals and accelerating institutional adoption.
According to the bank’s analysts, the bullish revision is fueled by aggressive accumulation from corporate treasuries and spot exchange-traded funds (ETFs). Since June, these institutional players have acquired roughly 3.8% of the total Ether supply, nearly doubling the comparable rate of Bitcoin purchases by similar buyers.
In particular, treasury departments have purchased approximately 2.3 million ETH over the past two and a half months, representing 1.9% of total circulation. This level of demand, the bank notes, is poised to drive ETH above its previous all-time high of $4,866 before the close of the third quarter.
Standard Chartered’s research points to policy tailwinds as another key driver. The recently enacted GENIUS Act, signed by President Trump, is expected to bolster Ethereum’s ecosystem by providing regulatory clarity for stablecoins. Currently, more than half of all stablecoins operate on the Ethereum network, and these tokens account for about 40% of total blockchain fee revenue.
With a deepening base of institutional support, favorable regulation, and a robust role in the stablecoin economy, the bank sees Ethereum as well-positioned to outperform in the coming years. If current accumulation trends persist, analysts believe ETH could not only surpass its all-time highs in 2025 but also set the stage for a sustained rally toward its ambitious 2028 target.
