In a bold and unprecedented move, Parataxis Holdings has acquired KOSDAQ-listed biotech firm Bridge Biotherapeutics, signaling its intent to transform it into South Korea’s first Bitcoin-native treasury platform. This strategic pivot marks a new frontier for institutional crypto adoption in East Asia, bridging the gap between traditional equity markets and emerging digital asset strategies.

The KRW 25 billion acquisition represents a paradigm shift for Bridge Biotherapeutics, which will be rebranded as Parataxis Korea. While retaining its biotech operations, the company will adopt a dual-focus model, anchoring its treasury strategy around exclusive Bitcoin holdings. Edward Chin, Founder and CEO of Parataxis Holdings, emphasized, “We are excited to transition Bridge Biotherapeutics into Parataxis Korea to pioneer a Bitcoin-native treasury service for institutions.”

This move reflects increasing institutional appetite for regulated, transparent avenues to gain Bitcoin exposure. The firm’s transformation positions it as a singular entity within the KOSDAQ—dedicating its treasury exclusively to Bitcoin rather than a diversified basket of crypto assets. The approach is modeled loosely after global benchmarks like MicroStrategy, yet tailored to Korea’s distinct regulatory and financial framework.

As part of the acquisition, Chin will join the board of Parataxis Korea, while Andrew Kim is set to assume the role of CEO, overseeing the operationalization of the firm’s treasury vision. These leadership changes are crafted to realign corporate governance with the company’s new institutional focus.

Parataxis Korea’s emergence comes at a critical juncture for Korean crypto markets. With increasing attention from regulators and a maturing investor base, the development of a KOSDAQ-listed Bitcoin treasury firm could drive further legitimacy and market liquidity for institutional investors. A shareholder vote scheduled for August 2025 will determine the final approval of the transition.

“This project is more than a corporate restructuring—it’s a statement on the future of institutional crypto engagement in South Korea,” noted one market analyst. Parataxis Korea's focused strategy, publicly listed status, and regulated environment may serve as a blueprint for similar efforts in the region.

Interestingly, the biotech operations of Bridge Biotherapeutics will continue, ensuring stability for legacy stakeholders while enabling strategic diversification into digital finance. This dual-track approach minimizes risk and retains operational continuity as the crypto business scales.

The creation of Parataxis Korea reflects broader global trends in corporate treasury transformation and suggests South Korea is poised to become a key player in regulated digital asset infrastructure.
