KuCoin Turns Airport Lounges into Crypto Hubs Through Plaza Premium Partnership
KuCoin’s KuCard teams up with Plaza Premium Lounge to offer crypto payments and 20% discounts for airport travelers.
KuCoin has announced a partnership between its Visa-backed debit card, KuCard, and Plaza Premium Lounge, marking a milestone in bringing cryptocurrency payments into the luxury travel sector. The collaboration enables KuCard holders to access and pay for services at more than 600 airport lounges across 150 countries, introducing real-world crypto utility to one of the most exclusive aspects of global travel.
Through this partnership, KuCard users can enjoy a 20% discount at Plaza Premium Lounge locations worldwide. The integration merges digital finance with physical experiences, giving travelers the flexibility to use cryptocurrencies for premium airport access. Plaza Premium, which caters to over 24 million passengers annually, is known for pioneering independent airport lounges focused on comfort and accessibility. This move brings digital asset payments into a mainstream service environment, bridging the gap between blockchain technology and high-end travel.
Launched in 2023, KuCard functions as a Visa-enabled debit card that converts cryptocurrencies into fiat currency at the point of sale. It supports both Apple Pay and Google Pay, allowing users to spend crypto directly with merchants without manual conversion. By offering real-time crypto-to-fiat conversion, KuCard eliminates liquidity barriers and simplifies everyday spending, addressing long-standing issues that have limited crypto’s practical use.
Axl Zhong, Lead of KuCard, emphasized the significance of the partnership, stating that it “represents a major step in merging cryptocurrency with traditional industries.” He noted that the initiative aligns with KuCard’s mission to expand secure, inclusive, and interoperable crypto adoption in both financial and lifestyle sectors.
The alliance also underscores KuCoin’s strategy to enhance the usability of blockchain technology beyond trading. By embedding crypto payments into travel services, KuCoin aims to make digital assets more relevant to daily life and more accessible to mainstream users. The company envisions a future where travelers can seamlessly manage digital assets across global borders, enjoying the same convenience as with traditional payment methods.
In addition to its partnership with Plaza Premium Lounge, KuCoin recently achieved ISO 27701:2025 certification, an advanced international standard for privacy information management. This builds upon its prior ISO 27001:2022 and SOC 2 Type II certifications, strengthening its reputation as one of the most compliance-oriented and security-focused exchanges in the crypto industry. The certifications reinforce KuCoin’s commitment to user data protection for its more than 40 million global customers.
With this partnership, KuCoin continues to position itself at the forefront of crypto adoption in real-world settings. By combining blockchain payments with luxury travel, the exchange is demonstrating how digital currencies can move beyond speculation to become a practical, everyday financial tool — one airport lounge at a time.
