KuCoin Expands Into Cloud Mining With KuMining, Targeting Bitcoin, Dogecoin and Litecoin
KuCoin launches KuMining, a cloud mining platform for BTC, DOGE, and LTC, giving retail investors access to industrial-scale mining.
KuCoin, one of the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchanges, has entered the mining sector with the launch of KuMining, a new cloud mining platform that gives retail investors access to industrial-scale Bitcoin, Dogecoin, and Litecoin mining. The move signals a significant step in KuCoin’s broader strategy to integrate mining with its existing digital asset ecosystem.
According to the company, KuMining debuts with 10 exahashes per second of Bitcoin hashrate and 200 terahashes per second dedicated to Dogecoin and Litecoin. This represents around 10% of the global Dogecoin network’s hashrate, a considerable share that also enables merged mining with Litecoin, which operates on the Scrypt proof-of-work algorithm.
Jolie Du, KuMining’s Chief Operating Officer, emphasized that the platform is designed to lower barriers for market participants:“Users can rent genuine hashrate from professional facilities, with daily yields automatically credited. This eliminates the complexities of acquiring hardware, managing energy, and maintaining equipment.”
The cloud mining model allows individuals to access mining returns without the traditional upfront costs or technical expertise. For KuCoin, it is also a way of reinforcing its “crypto for good” narrative by redistributing mining power beyond specialized operators.“By decentralizing mining power to real users, it builds an inclusive Web3 where assets can accumulate passively,”added KuCoin CEO BC Wong.
KuMining is supported by 300 megawatts to 2 gigawatts of power resources across verified global sites. Its infrastructure is scalable, with additional capacity expected to be added on a monthly basis. This ensures the platform can expand alongside growing demand while maintaining efficiency.
Users will be able to begin renting real Bitcoin and Dogecoin hashrate starting September 16, 2025. Daily payouts are designed to help participants mitigate volatility through risk management tools and strategies like dollar-cost averaging into crypto assets. Rewards can also be collected in KuCoin’s native token, KCS, integrating mining returns directly into the exchange’s wider ecosystem.
The timing of this launch is significant. Cloud mining platforms have historically been plagued by questions of transparency and sustainability. By leveraging KuCoin’s established brand and operational partnerships with hardware manufacturers and energy providers, KuMining aims to restore credibility to a sector that has often been met with skepticism.
With Dogecoin ranking as the second-largest proof-of-work cryptocurrency by market capitalization, behind only Bitcoin, and Litecoin ranking fourth behind Bitcoin Cash, KuMining positions itself at the center of a market still defined by mining-driven token issuance.
As the debate over proof-of-work’s environmental impact continues, KuCoin’s bet on industrial-scale mining signals confidence that demand for these networks will persist. For retail investors shut out of traditional mining due to costs and complexity, KuMining offers a gateway to participate in one of crypto’s foundational mechanisms.
