Institutional Finance Embraces DeFi as BCAP Token Goes Onchain with ZKsync and RedStone
RedStone, Securitize, and ZKsync bring $150M BCAP token onchain, bridging institutional finance and DeFi with a live price feed.
In a groundbreaking move for the decentralized finance space, RedStone and Securitize have joined forces to bring Blockchain Capital’s $BCAP token fully onchain via a native price feed on ZKsync Era. This marks a pivotal moment in the evolution of tokenized real-world assets (RWAs), pushing the sector further into the core of DeFi infrastructure.
The $BCAP token, representing a venture capital fund managed by Blockchain Capital, now has a live, gas-efficient price feed on ZKsync thanks to RedStone, which serves as the official oracle provider for Securitize. This integration addresses a critical barrier that has kept tokenized assets at the margins of DeFi: the absence of secure, real-time pricing mechanisms required for lending, collateral, and other financial operations.
RWAs have experienced explosive growth, expanding by over 500% in the past year and surpassing $20 billion in market value, according to a company note cited in recent industry coverage. However, much of this value has remained siloed due to technical and regulatory limitations. By introducing a reliable price feed for BCAP, RedStone and Securitize are opening new pathways for RWAs to be used more effectively within decentralized protocols.
“This is more than a price feed,” said Omar Azhar of Matter Labs. “It signals that institutional finance is moving onchain.” His comment underscores the broader implications of this move — not just as a technical enhancement but as a cultural and operational shift within traditional finance.
The integration of BCAP into ZKsync follows RedStone’s earlier success with other tokenized assets, including BlackRock’s BUIDL fund. According to RedStone co-founder Marcin Kazmierczak, this new collaboration “paves the way for onchain strategies involving tokenized venture assets and other institutional-grade products.”
ZKsync, now the second-largest platform for RWAs behind Ethereum’s mainnet, currently hosts over $2 billion in such assets. The arrival of BCAP on ZKsync provides DeFi developers and investors with a credible tool for integrating institutional-grade tokens into lending platforms, vaults, and automated yield strategies — capabilities that were previously out of reach.
Carlos Domingo, CEO of Securitize, emphasized the strategic importance of the move: “This feed enables BCAP to support DeFi-native yield products with real-time pricing that meets institutional standards.” His remarks highlight a growing alignment between traditional financial compliance and the flexibility of decentralized ecosystems.
Together, RedStone, Securitize, and ZKsync are building the bridge that brings regulated financial instruments into the heart of DeFi. Their collaboration offers a model for how real-world capital can interact seamlessly with blockchain-based applications, signaling a more mature, accessible, and interoperable financial future.strong>/strong>
