Iggy Azalea is taking her meme coin ambitions to a new level. The Australian rapper and entrepreneur has joinedThrust, a Solana-based token launchpad, as creative director and plans to migrate her popular MOTHER coin to the platform by the end of the year. The move signals a significant shift in how celebrity-driven crypto projects aim to balance entertainment appeal with legal accountability.

Thrust, which officially debuted on Wednesday with an offering from online streamer N3on—co-owner of Azalea’s digital casinoMOTHERLAND—positions itself as a direct challenge to meme coin platforms like Pump.fun. Unlike those open, often chaotic environments, Thrust employs a tightly controlled model combining blockchain technology with enforceable entertainment contracts. Each token launch undergoes legal vetting and is bound by contract law, designed to eliminate “pump-and-dump” schemes that have plagued the meme coin space.

In her new role, Azalea is focusing on “onboarding pop culture into crypto,” as she described it. She has been one of the few mainstream artists to advocate openly for celebrity coins since launching MOTHER during the 2024 memecoin craze. Her partnership with Thrust reflects an attempt to professionalize the space by setting standardized deliverables and requiring ongoing engagement from public figures.

“I’ve sort of been sitting dormant trying to figure out how can I create some sort of real revenue to put back into what we’re doing,” Azalea explained in a recent statement. By embedding legal commitments into token issuance, Thrust ensures that celebrity creators remain accountable to their communities. The platform’s legal framework is managed by Croke Fairchild Duarte & Beres, a boutique law firm increasingly active in the crypto industry.

Co-founder Jake Antifaev, who previously founded the hemp company Mood, emphasized that Thrust aims to replace speculation with sustainability. “We want people who are committed to creating experiences for their fans and actually want to be here and contribute,” he said. To that end, Thrust has eliminated the bonding curve model popularized by Pump.fun, which Antifaev argues primarily rewards automated trading bots rather than genuine supporters. Instead, pre-sale funds go directly into liquidity pools, fostering deeper liquidity and reducing volatility.

As Thrust develops, Azalea’s MOTHER coin migration will serve as its first major test case. The platform’s design prioritizes transparency, fairness, and contractual enforcement—elements rarely seen in the often unpredictable meme coin ecosystem. Beyond the migration, Azalea hinted at potential collaborations, including a possible token project with actress Megan Fox, set to be discussed at Art Basel in December.

One percent of MOTHER tokens will be reserved for community airdrops and special events, culminating in a year-end celebration at Sydney’s Luna Park. For an industry frequently criticized for its speculative excesses, Azalea’s partnership with Thrust represents a novel attempt to blend pop culture, blockchain innovation, and enforceable ethics.
