Huma Joins Global Dollar Network to Boost USDG Adoption and Scale PayFi Innovation
Huma joins GDN, boosting compliant USDG stablecoin use in PayFi and cross-border payments on Solana.
In a pivotal move for the future of programmable finance, Huma has officially joined the Global Dollar Network (GDN), deepening its stake in compliant, blockchain-powered payment infrastructure. This collaboration is poised to accelerate the adoption of USDG—the regulatory-compliant stablecoin issued by Paxos Digital Singapore—across the $30 trillion global payments market.
The USDG stablecoin, already available on Ethereum and Solana, is gaining traction due to its regulatory alignment under the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) and its strategic deployment on high-throughput blockchains like Solana. Solana alone processes up to $4 billion in stablecoin transactions daily, making it an optimal environment for USDG’s scale and functionality.
Huma, known for its innovative PayFi network, brings a track record of processing over $4.5 billion in payment-backed volume. According to co-founder Erbil Karaman, Huma’s integration into the GDN amplifies the network effect essential for mainstream stablecoin use, facilitating real-time, programmable, and borderless finance.
Ronak Daya, Head of Product at Paxos, noted that Huma’s strength in liquidity and credit systems will reinforce GDN’s infrastructure, enhancing the speed and security of cross-border financial settlements.
The GDN offers a unique incentive model, allowing members to mint, transact, and hold USDG without needing to issue their own stablecoins. This approach not only reduces friction for new entrants but also ensures regulatory cohesion across a growing alliance of partners. Current GDN members include notable fintech players such as Robinhood, Kraken, Nuvei, Anchorage, and Worldpay.
This partnership also aligns with emerging regulatory clarity under initiatives like the GENIUS Act, which supports compliant financial innovation in programmable finance. Huma's commitment to bridging traditional finance (TradFi) and decentralized finance (DeFi) positions it at the forefront of a financial transformation rooted in stablecoins.
By leveraging Solana’s infrastructure and Paxos’ regulatory rigor, Huma and GDN are crafting a model for scalable, compliant PayFi services. This collaboration is not just a technological upgrade—it’s a strategic alignment that reinforces the legitimacy and practical utility of stablecoins in global finance.
