In a move designed to energize the XRP community and expand crypto adoption in mainstream finance, Gemini has officially launched a new XRP credit card, developed in partnership with Ripple, Mastercard, and WebBank. The product, which debuted on August 25, reimagines Gemini’s existing credit card model around XRP rewards, making it the first limited-edition metal card tailored specifically for XRP holders.

The Gemini XRP Credit Card offers a tiered reward system: users receive 4% back in XRP on fuel, electric vehicle charging, rideshare, and transit purchases, subject to a monthly cap before shifting to 1%. Dining earns 3%, groceries 2%, and all other eligible categories deliver 1%. Gemini has also introduced rotating promotions, with some merchants offering as much as 10% cashback in XRP, reinforcing the card’s appeal to frequent spenders.

To further boost adoption, new applicants approved by June 30, 2025, can claim a $200 XRP bonus after spending $3,000 within the first 90 days. Rewards are instantly deposited into users’ Gemini Exchange accounts, giving them immediate flexibility to hold, trade, or cash out. The exchange confirmed that no annual fees, no foreign transaction charges, and no conversion costs will be applied when rewards are converted into XRP.

The card runs on Mastercard’s global network, ensuring wide acceptance, and comes in black, silver, or rose gold finishes. Gemini emphasized its commitment to security, noting that card numbers will not appear on the physical card but will be securely stored within the Gemini app.

The collaboration between Gemini and Ripple goes beyond the credit card itself. Alongside the launch, Gemini added support for Ripple USD (RLUSD), Ripple’s U.S. dollar-backed stablecoin, for spot trading in the American market. According to Ripple, the integration offers users a seamless way to combine XRP rewards with stablecoin functionality, enabling faster transactions without additional conversion fees.

The initiative is backed by a $75 million joint investment from Gemini and Ripple, with indications that Ripple may extend a line of credit to Gemini as the exchange prepares for a potential IPO. The launch was preceded by a bold marketing campaign in New York City, where Gemini displayed billboards urging the XRP community to “prepare your bags.” The teaser quickly spread across social media, sparking widespread anticipation.

For Ripple, the partnership marks a strategic expansion of XRP’s use cases beyond trading and remittances, embedding it into everyday consumer payments. For Gemini, it strengthens its reputation as an exchange willing to innovate in partnership with blockchain networks, rather than competing against them.

If adoption gains traction, the XRP credit card could signal a new phase for crypto-based consumer finance, blending traditional payment networks with blockchain-backed rewards. For the XRP community, long considered among the most vocal in the crypto space, this product offers not just symbolic recognition but also practical, mainstream utility.
