Ethereum ETFs Set $1B Daily Inflow Record, Surpassing Bitcoin Performance
Ethereum ETFs hit a record $1.019B daily inflow, driven by BlackRock’s ETHA, as ETH outperforms Bitcoin.
Ethereum has seized the spotlight on Wall Street as U.S. spot ETH exchange-traded funds (ETFs) recorded a historic $1.019 billion in net inflows on August 11, leaving Bitcoin-focused funds trailing. Leading the charge is BlackRock’s iShares Ethereum Trust (ETHA), which has doubled its net inflows to $10 billion in just three months.
The milestone marks ETHA’s largest single-day inflow since launch, with 149,168 ETH worth approximately $640.68 million added to its holdings. The surge also pushed daily trading volume to $1.8 billion and drove the ETF’s share price to a record $33.02 after a 5% jump. Over the past month, ETHA has risen 41%, and since its April low of $11.50, the fund has climbed nearly 200%.
Analysts attribute this momentum to consistent ETH accumulation during June and July. As of now, ETHA holds more than 3.3 million ETH, positioning it as a major force in institutional Ethereum exposure.
Ethereum’s market performance further underscores this bullish trend. Over the past week, ETH gained 19%, significantly outpacing Bitcoin’s modest 4% increase. As of August 13, ETH was trading at $4,279.18, up 2.18% in the last 24 hours, while Bitcoin slipped 1.18% to $118,293.89.
Adding to market optimism, Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin unveiled his long-term vision for the network. His roadmap emphasizes ultra-light nodes, integrated privacy features, seamless self-custody, and a fully verified technology stack, spanning decentralized applications to the hardware they run on. Buterin likened outdated “trust me” systems to drinking unfiltered tap water, advocating for a societal shift toward trustless security.
Meanwhile, BlackRock made headlines on August 5 when Arkham Intelligence reported a significant blockchain transaction: the transfer of 2,544 BTC and 101,975 ETH from ETF-linked holdings to Coinbase Prime. While the asset manager has not clarified the motive, the move has fueled speculation about strategic portfolio adjustments.
The convergence of record ETF inflows, Ethereum’s strong price action, and renewed institutional interest is prompting speculation that ETH could soon approach or surpass its all-time high. Whether this momentum can be sustained will depend on broader market sentiment, regulatory developments, and continued institutional adoption.
