ECD Automotive Design, the world’s largest restorer of classic Land Rovers and Jaguars, has announced a $500 million equity facility aimed at acquiring Bitcoin and accelerating its business growth. This strategic initiative highlights the increasing alignment between corporate treasury management and digital asset investment, positioning ECD at the forefront of a growing trend in financial diversification.

The Florida-based company confirmed that the capital will be deployed primarily through ECDA Bitcoin Treasury LLC, a dedicated entity created to manage Bitcoin holdings. “This financing strengthens our financial foundation and enables us to diversify our treasury strategy with Bitcoin,” said Ben Piggott, ECD’s CFO. The move follows in the footsteps of firms like MicroStrategy, which have made headlines for their aggressive Bitcoin acquisition strategies.

ECD’s entry into the corporate Bitcoin space represents more than a financial maneuver—it signals the normalization of cryptocurrency in mainstream business operations. Bitcoin, long touted as a hedge against inflation and fiat instability, is increasingly seen as a viable store of value by public and private enterprises alike.

In parallel with its treasury initiative, ECD is expanding its crypto ecosystem by enhancing customer payment options. Through a partnership with BitPay, customers can now purchase bespoke vehicles using Bitcoin. To encourage uptake, the company is offering $21,000 in upgrade credits to the first 21 clients who pay with Bitcoin over the next 12 months. This dual strategy of treasury investment and customer engagement underscores ECD’s forward-looking approach.

The timing is notable. According to CoinGecko, Bitcoin is currently trading at approximately $102,961, near multi-month highs. Meanwhile, data from bitcointreasuries.net shows a 13% monthly increase in the number of public companies holding Bitcoin, now totaling 243. These signals suggest a strengthening institutional belief in Bitcoin’s role as a corporate asset.

ECD’s move not only diversifies its balance sheet but also enhances brand positioning within the tech-savvy, crypto-aware consumer base. As more companies evaluate digital assets for strategic integration, ECD offers a case study in how traditional industries can leverage innovation to broaden their financial and operational horizons.
