Dune Launches Onchain Trading Data Feeds in Real Time for Institutions
Dune has launched real-time market data feeds covering more than 200 onchain venues across 12 networks, pitching hedge funds, asset managers, market makers and brokers as tokenized stocks move toward onchain trading under a new SEC exemption.
Dune, the crypto data analytics firm, has launched real-time market data feeds covering trades on more than 200 onchain venues across 12 networks. The product is aimed at hedge funds, asset managers, market makers and brokers that want onchain prices inside the systems they already run.
According to the company's statement, the feeds span networks including Solana, Ethereum, Base, BNB Chain and X Layer. Spot feeds deliver trade data about one second after execution, while the perpetuals feeds will track trades on Hyperliquid and Lighter.
Dune framed the product in its statement this way:
"Hedge funds, asset managers, market makers and brokers can now follow onchain price discovery in the same systems they use for listed markets,"
Latency and coverage claims
Dune states its latency figures at the 95th percentile, meaning 95% of trades arrive within the stated time. The company puts spot latency at 1.34 seconds and perpetuals at 590 milliseconds. Those numbers describe near-worst-case delivery rather than an average, and institutions are likely to test performance in volatile periods, when latency tends to spike.
The company also says the feeds capture around 90% of onchain spot trading volume, and it estimates perpetual volume across the covered venues at about $9 billion per day.
The 90% figure is Dune's own claim and has not been independently verified.
The regulatory backdrop
The launch lands as tokenized equities move closer to onchain venues. In September 2026, the SEC issued a five-year exemption that lets certain venues trade tokenized versions of US-listed stocks without registering as exchanges. OKXICE, the joint venture between OKX and Intercontinental Exchange, has notified the SEC of plans for a tokenized securities trading venue under that innovation exemption, and Dune said OKXICE has since filed to list 63 tokenized stocks on X Layer.
Co-founder and CEO Fredrik Haga linked the product to that shift:
"Onchain trading now represents about 25% of all spot crypto trading volume, and the SEC is paving the way for stocks and other instruments to also benefit from onchain trading venues,"
Haga added that the company is "expanding to real-time feeds, including rich reference data, so anyone can trade with clarity and confidence about which instruments trade where, and at what prices."
What it means
The launch extends Dune beyond its original business of SQL-based analytics and dashboards built on indexed blockchain data. It comes months after the company cut 25% of its staff, citing AI efficiencies.
If tokenized equities begin trading onchain at scale under the SEC exemption, institutions will look for venue-level reference data and prices delivered with the kind of latency they expect from listed markets. Whether Dune's feeds meet that bar will depend on how they hold up in live conditions, not on the headline coverage numbers.
