In a landmark crossover between digital assets and traditional sports, the Dogecoin Foundation’s corporate arm, House of DOGE, has become the majority shareholder of U.S. Triestina Calcio 1918, an Italian football club competing in Serie C. The move marks the first time a European soccer club has integrated a cryptocurrency-driven entity directly into its ownership structure.

The acquisition, made in partnership with Brag House Holdings, gives House of DOGE controlling interest in the historic Triestina club, which is currently struggling at the bottom of Italy’s third division. The financial details of the transaction were not disclosed, but both organizations emphasized that the deal represents more than a conventional sports investment — it’s a strategic push to embed Dogecoin’s technology and community ethos into professional football.

“This is a groundbreaking step for the intersection of traditional sports and digital assets,” House of DOGE said in a statement on Monday. The company committed to an immediate investment in Triestina’s football operations and local community programs, signaling that cryptocurrency integration will be central to the club’s revival strategy.

CEO Marco Margiotta described the initiative as an opportunity to showcase practical cryptocurrency adoption in real-world settings. “This investment extends beyond football,” Margiotta said. “It’s about bringing Dogecoin’s spirit of innovation and inclusivity into the global game.”

Under the new ownership structure, House of DOGE plans to introduce digital asset functionality throughout the club’s operations. Proposed integrations include allowing fans to purchase match tickets, team merchandise, and concessions using cryptocurrencies such as DOGE. The initiative aims to position Triestina as one of Europe’s most blockchain-friendly sports organizations, potentially setting a precedent for other clubs exploring similar models.

The announcement comes shortly after House of DOGE revealed plans to go public through a reverse takeover with Brag House, an esports company focused on collegiate gaming. The merger is expected to give the new entity a broader platform to blend digital culture, gaming, and sports entertainment under one ecosystem.

While crypto sponsorships in sports have become increasingly common, direct ownership remains rare. The House of DOGE model closely mirrors the approach of Brera Holdings, a Solana-backed sports investment group based in Ireland that owns several mid-tier football clubs. These ventures signal a growing trend: cryptocurrency companies moving from marketing partnerships to operational control within the sporting world.

Triestina Calcio, founded in 1918, has a storied history but faces steep challenges on the pitch after recent financial and performance struggles. House of DOGE hopes its investment will boost the club’s competitiveness while demonstrating how blockchain technology can enhance fan engagement and club financing.

If successful, the deal could redefine the relationship between crypto enterprises and professional sports — transforming digital tokens like Dogecoin from online phenomena into tangible engines of community and cultural impact.
