In a landmark move for regulated digital finance, DigiFT has announced plans to tokenize shares of Tayang Group Holdings Limited (HKEX: 1991.HK), marking the first time a Hong Kong–listed stock will be represented as digital tokens under Singapore’s financial regulatory framework. The initiative, conducted under the supervision of the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS), signals a new era of cross-border collaboration between traditional equity markets and blockchain-based infrastructure.

DigiFT, a Singapore-licensed platform specializing in the tokenization and trading of real-world assets (RWAs), has long advocated for bridging conventional finance with compliant digital systems. This latest effort will bring Tayang Group’s publicly listed shares onto a regulated blockchain environment, allowing institutional investors to gain exposure to traditional equities via on-chain channels.

According to DigiFT Founder and CEO Henry Zhang, the project underscores how blockchain technology and established financial oversight can coexist to foster innovation without compromising integrity. “We’re proud to support the tokenization of Tayang Group shares, demonstrating how regulated frameworks can integrate traditional assets with digital finance while preserving market integrity,” Zhang said.

The partnership with Tayang Group, a diversified Hong Kong conglomerate listed since 2007, represents a strategic expansion of both firms into the evolving digital asset economy. Chairwoman Shi Qi emphasized that tokenizing the company’s shares aligns with its long-term focus on innovation and shareholder value creation. By moving part of its equity structure onto a blockchain, Tayang aims to enhance transparency, accessibility, and liquidity—benefits that have become increasingly important to global investors.

The initiative also cements DigiFT’s position as a pioneer in compliant asset tokenization. The company recently expanded its regulatory footprint by obtaining a custodial license from the Monetary Authority of Singapore, supplementing its existing Capital Markets Services (CMS) license. This new authorization allows DigiFT to securely hold and manage tokenized capital market products, adding another layer of institutional trust to its offerings.

Beyond its immediate significance, the tokenization of Tayang Group shares may serve as a model for how regional financial markets can interconnect through regulated digital frameworks. By enabling cross-market participation and on-chain settlement, DigiFT’s platform could help facilitate greater capital efficiency and inclusion—particularly among institutional investors seeking compliant access to tokenized equities.

Industry analysts suggest that this move could encourage further cooperation between Asian financial regulators, potentially accelerating the development of a harmonized regulatory environment for blockchain-based securities. As demand for tokenized real-world assets grows, regulated models like DigiFT’s are poised to play a defining role in shaping the next phase of financial infrastructure.

the Tayang Group initiative not only showcases the technical viability of equity tokenization but also reinforces the broader shift toward integrating traditional markets with regulated, blockchain-powered systems—setting a new benchmark for digital asset innovation in Asia.
