Crypto Shock: Ukrainian Influencer Kostya Kudo Found Dead After Market Crash
Crypto influencer Kostya Kudo found dead in Kyiv amid market crash, as police investigate suspected suicide linked to financial distress.
Ukrainian authorities have launched an investigation into the death of crypto influencer and trader Konstantin Galich, widely known online as Kostya Kudo, after the 32-year-old was found dead in his Lamborghini Urus in Kyiv over the weekend. Police suspect suicide, linking the tragedy to the recent cryptocurrency market collapse that wiped out billions in digital assets.
According to the Kyiv Police Department, officers discovered Galich’s body in the Obolonskyi district on October 11, alongside a legally registered firearm. A gunshot wound to the head was identified as the cause of death. Authorities opened criminal proceedings under Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — “intentional murder,” with an additional note of “suicide” — a standard legal framework for such cases pending further confirmation.
Investigators noted that Galich, an entrepreneur and prominent crypto educator, had recently expressed signs of depression and financial distress. “On the eve of his death, he informed relatives about his deteriorating emotional state due to financial difficulties and sent them a farewell message,” the police statement read.
A brief message on Kudo’s official Telegram channel confirmed his passing:“Konstantin Kudo tragically passed away. The cause is being determined.”Later, channel administrators thanked followers for their condolences, describing the support as “important for family, colleagues, and friends.”
Kudo was a well-known figure in the Ukrainian and international crypto communities, followed for his market analyses, trading psychology insights, and educational work. He co-founded Cryptology Key, an academy focused on cryptocurrency trading and blockchain literacy. His social media presence attracted thousands of traders seeking his guidance on market trends.
Reports suggest Kudo’s death coincided with one of the sharpest crypto crashes in 2025, as global traders liquidated over $20 billion in positions. The sell-off, triggered by geopolitical tensions and new U.S. trade tariffs on Chinese imports, drove Bitcoin below $110,000 and erased months of gains across major assets. Analysts say the market shock left many leveraged traders facing heavy losses, including those active in Eastern Europe’s fast-growing crypto scene.
Beyond his trading success, Kudo was also known for his luxurious lifestyle, owning both a 2020 Lamborghini Urus and a 2023 Ferrari 296 GTB. His image as a self-made crypto millionaire made him a symbol of Ukraine’s emerging generation of digital entrepreneurs.
Ukraine, one of the world’s leading countries in crypto adoption, continues to face challenges in regulating its digital asset sector. While usage has surged since the war began in 2022 — partly due to restrictions on fiat transfers — comprehensive crypto legislation remains under debate in the Verkhovna Rada, Ukraine’s parliament.
Kudo’s death has sparked renewed discussion about the psychological toll of high-risk trading and the need for stronger investor protections in an industry often driven by volatility and financial pressure.
