Bittensor’s native token, TAO, has soared past the $500 mark for the first time in ten months, signaling renewed investor enthusiasm for one of the most talked-about AI-driven blockchain networks. The token surged 21% in the last 24 hours to reach $526, fueled by the launch of Europe’s first staked TAO exchange-traded product (ETP) — a milestone that could redefine how institutional investors gain exposure to AI-based cryptocurrencies.

The product, called the Safello Bittensor Staked TAO ETP (STAO), was introduced by Frankfurt-based Deutsche Digital Assets (DDA) in partnership with the Nordic exchange Safello. The ETP gives investors regulated access to TAO while offering staking rewards, an unusual combination that merges traditional investment mechanisms with decentralized yield generation.

“This launch makes the intersection of AI and blockchain more accessible to mainstream investors,” said Safello CEO Emelie Moritz. “Bittensor exemplifies how decentralized intelligence can create new forms of value, and now that potential can be reached through a transparent, compliant investment vehicle.”

The launch arrives as institutional appetite for crypto diversification rises once again. According to data from CoinMarketCap, Bittensor’s daily trading volume surged by more than 108% to approximately $940 million, pushing its market capitalization to $5.37 billion and giving the network a fully diluted valuation near $11 billion.

Beyond the ETP, macro-level fundamentals are amplifying bullish sentiment. Bittensor’s first halving event, scheduled around December 10, is set to cut token emissions from 7,200 to 3,600 TAO per day. Modeled on Bitcoin’s deflationary design, this mechanism aims to slow inflation and enhance long-term scarcity. With only 21 million TAO tokens ever to be minted — roughly 10.2 million currently in circulation — investors see clear parallels with the crypto market’s most time-tested asset.

Technical indicators also support the rally. TAO has finally broken through a persistent resistance level near $474, a price ceiling it had failed to cross since early 2025. Data from CoinGlass shows that open interest — a measure of active derivatives contracts — has surged from $215 million to $388 million in just ten days, while trading volume jumped threefold to nearly $1.9 billion. The move suggests a strong inflow of speculative capital betting on continued upside momentum.

While some analysts warn of potential volatility given TAO’s rapid ascent, others argue the fundamentals remain sound. With AI adoption accelerating globally and institutional products like STAO bridging crypto and traditional finance, Bittensor’s recent breakout could mark the start of a broader narrative — one where decentralized machine intelligence meets mainstream capital.
