Bitget Rises to Third-Largest Crypto Exchange Globally Amid Market Turbulence
Bitget becomes the third-largest crypto exchange by volume, driven by regulatory wins, innovative tools, and rising user engagement.
In a major industry leap, Seychelles-based cryptocurrency exchange Bitget has ascended to become the world's third-largest exchange by trading volume, according to its April 2025 transparency report.
Founded in 2018, Bitget has grown into a global force in both spot and futures markets, bolstered by a distinctive feature set including its popular copy trading service. This tool enables novice traders to emulate the strategies of top-performing professionals, providing an entry point into complex trading ecosystems.
In April, Bitget reported a remarkable $757.6 billion in futures trading volume and $68.6 billion in spot trading, defying a broader market slowdown. Its market share surged to 7.2%, a significant feat during a period marked by corrections and cautious sentiment.
One of Bitget's most notable achievements last month was securing regulatory licenses in El Salvador—one of the world’s most crypto-forward nations. With both Digital Asset Service Provider (DASP) and Bitcoin Service Provider (BSP) licenses, Bitget can now offer a full suite of crypto services in the country, from derivatives to staking.
Adding to its momentum, Bitget launched "Bitget Onchain," a new feature allowing users to trade on-chain assets directly from their spot accounts, bridging centralized and decentralized finance infrastructures.
The exchange has also enhanced its Liquidity Incentive Program by improving maker-taker fee structures, a move designed to attract institutional players and deepen market participation.
Bitget’s presence on the global stage has grown significantly, with active participation in premier events such as TOKEN2049 in Dubai and Paris Blockchain Week. Under the leadership of CEO Gracy Chen, the platform has steadily attracted a loyal retail user base through intuitive design and a commitment to innovation.
Now boasting over 120 million users worldwide, Bitget's rapid ascent illustrates the increasing sophistication of crypto trading platforms and the growing demand for regulated, user-friendly ecosystems that bridge traditional and decentralized finance.
