Bitdeer Technologies, the Singapore-based Bitcoin mining firm, has strengthened its position in the global mining sector, reaching a total hash rate of 35 exa-hashes per second (EH/s). The achievement places Bitdeer fifth among publicly traded mining companies, surpassing Riot Platforms and edging closer to industry leaders such as Marathon Digital (MARA), CleanSpark, Cango, and IREN.

The company’s latest expansion was driven by the deployment of its proprietary Sealminer rigs and the activation of new mining sites in Tydal, Norway, and Jigmeling, Bhutan. Together, these upgrades added roughly five EH/s to its operational capacity in a single month — a 15.5% increase from August’s 30.3 EH/s. Bitdeer’s realized hashrate also rose sharply from 24.64 EH/s to 32.74 EH/s, marking one of the industry’s most significant monthly performance improvements.

In September, Bitdeer mined 452 BTC, representing a 20.5% jump from August’s 375 BTC. The higher yield underscores the company’s improved efficiency and the growing impact of its vertically integrated hardware strategy. By designing, fabricating, and deploying its own equipment, Bitdeer continues to reduce reliance on third-party providers while enhancing profitability.

The company’s technological progress is anchored by the Sealminer A3 series, which entered mass production in October. Bitdeer has already produced 34.2 EH/s worth of Sealminer A2 units, with 22.6 EH/s currently operational and another 5.5 EH/s set for deployment. Beyond this, the firm recently completed the design of its new SEAL04 chip, engineered to deliver energy efficiency below 10 joules per terahash (J/TH). While this remains above its long-term target of 5 J/TH, early testing results suggest steady progress toward that goal.

Matt Kong, Bitdeer’s Chief Business Officer, expressed optimism about the company’s trajectory: “Over the coming quarters, we will continue expanding our Sealminer fleet into our near-term global power capacity, putting us on track to become one of the largest vertically integrated miners in the world.”

Looking ahead, Bitdeer aims to achieve 40 EH/s by the end of October, followed by a planned phase-out of older, less efficient third-party rigs. This transition is expected to streamline operations and bolster margins amid fluctuating Bitcoin prices and rising energy costs.

Bitdeer’s diversification into artificial intelligence infrastructure also continues to grow. Its AI division, Bitdeer AI, has generated an annualized revenue of $8 million, supported by 584 GPUs operating at an 86% utilization rate. The company plans to double GPU capacity to over 1,100 units by late 2025 as it extends its computing services beyond crypto mining.

With increasing production power, in-house chip design, and expansion into high-performance computing, Bitdeer’s evolution signals the broader convergence of cryptocurrency mining and digital infrastructure development.
