Binance Integrates Hedera and Sui into BNB Chain, Expanding Cross-Chain Access
Binance adds Hedera and Sui to BNB Smart Chain, enabling cross-chain deposits, withdrawals, and new DeFi opportunities.
Binance has broadened the capabilities of its BNB Smart Chain (BSC) by adding support for two major digital assets: Hedera (HBAR) and Sui (SUI). The integration, announced on August 15, enables users to deposit and withdraw both tokens via the BSC network.
Hedera currently ranks as the 17th-largest cryptocurrency, with a market value of around $10.45 billion and a price near $0.246. Sui, positioned just ahead in the 14th spot, holds a similar market capitalization and is trading at approximately $3.69.
This cross-chain expansion allows holders of HBAR and SUI to leverage the BSC ecosystem for decentralized finance (DeFi) applications, staking, and enhanced trading options. By enabling the movement of these assets across chains, Binance aims to boost liquidity and broaden utility for its global user base.
The exchange also announced updates to its derivatives platform, including the launch of a USELESSUSDT perpetual contract with leverage of up to 50x, effective August 15. trading for Reservoir (DAM) will open on Binance Alpha on August 18, accompanied by a DAMUSDT perpetual contract with similar leverage options.
BNB, the native token of BNB Chain, recently reached a record price of $868.68, underscoring the platform's growth since its ERC-20 origins in 2017. Binance is now preparing for a significant chain upgrade designed to combine centralized-exchange performance with full decentralization, aiming to set a new benchmark for blockchain infrastructure.
