Billions Network has launched a groundbreaking mobile identity verification app for Android and iOS that combines NFC-based ID authentication with zero-knowledge proof (ZKP) cryptography. This innovation offers a privacy-centric alternative to conventional biometric systems, addressing growing concerns over AI-generated identity fraud without compromising personal data.

The app allows users to verify their identity by scanning government-issued ID documents via NFC while confirming liveness through non-invasive detection methods. Crucially, the system avoids the storage of sensitive biometric data. Instead, it employs encrypted proofs to verify authenticity, establishing a new benchmark in privacy-preserving identity verification.

"This app ensures people can safely and privately enjoy personalized digital experiences," said Evin McMullen, CEO of Billions Network. As generative AI increasingly threatens traditional forms of identity verification, Billions’ approach provides a scalable and secure defense.

Built on the Privado ID infrastructure and the open-source Circom ZKP framework, the app benefits from a foundation trusted by more than 9,000 platforms across both Web2 and Web3, including TikTok and Aptos. This robust backend ensures high interoperability and sets the stage for widespread adoption across digital ecosystems.

The data architecture employs a hybrid model: sensitive user information is stored locally on devices and optionally encrypted in the cloud. Encryption keys remain private to the user, ensuring that even Billions Network cannot access personal data without consent. This balances the convenience of multi-device synchronization with strict privacy assurances and regulatory compliance.

Looking forward, Billions Network plans to roll out additional features, including a web wallet interface and verifiable KYC services tailored for institutions. The company is also developing the DeepTrust framework, a novel protocol that will enable AI agents to establish onchain identities linked to human counterparts—a forward-looking move that could redefine accountability in AI interactions.

With its privacy-first design and decentralized architecture, Billions Network’s identity app positions itself as a leader in secure digital verification. As threats from synthetic identity and AI manipulation intensify, this app offers a resilient, user-controlled alternative poised for adoption across both consumer and institutional sectors.
