The Aleo Network Foundation has announced a strategic partnership with Request Finance to launch what is being billed as the first privacy-preserving crypto payroll system. The initiative aims to address one of the most pressing challenges in digital finance: balancing blockchain’s transparency with the privacy demands of traditional payroll systems.

Aleo, a nonprofit overseeing the Aleo Network, has developed a privacy-first infrastructure that leverages zero-knowledge cryptography to secure transactions without exposing sensitive data. By integrating this technology into Request Finance’s platform, which has already processed over $1 billion in transactions for global companies, the partnership seeks to provide Web2 and Web3 enterprises with a secure, compliant, and borderless payroll alternative.

Until now, companies paying employees or contractors in cryptocurrency have faced a tradeoff between efficiency and discretion. Public blockchains reveal transaction details that can expose salary information, while traditional fiat rails are often slow and costly for cross-border transfers. The Aleo–Request Finance integration eliminates that compromise, combining the speed and cost-effectiveness of blockchain with fintech-grade privacy.

The system allows enterprises to automate payroll while shielding wage-related data. For Web2 companies, this means paying overseas contractors without incurring high fees or delays. For Web3-native teams, which often hold up to 90% of their treasury on-chain, privacy is critical to avoid inadvertently disclosing sensitive financial information through a single transaction.

“Privacy isn’t just a feature — it’s a requirement for bridging traditional finance and blockchain technology,” said Howard Wu, co-founder of Aleo. “With Request Finance, companies can now pay in cryptocurrency without sacrificing the privacy standards they expect from traditional banking.”

Request Finance executives echoed this view, emphasizing the importance of discretion in payroll. “Aleo tackles one of the biggest challenges for businesses adopting stablecoins in their finance stack: maintaining privacy on-chain,” said Max Franke, Head of Product at Request Finance. “This integration ensures that sensitive payments — from payroll to vendor bills — remain confidential while keeping processes familiar and user-friendly.”

The pilot rollout of Aleo’s technology proved successful, paving the way for full integration across Request Finance’s platform. Beyond payroll, the infrastructure could extend to accounts payable, vendor payments, and other finance operations, making it an attractive option for enterprises seeking blockchain efficiency without transparency risks.

Aleo’s broader vision is to power the next generation of decentralized applications by embedding privacy as a default feature. Using zero-knowledge proofs, its network enables scalable off-chain computation with on-chain verification — an approach designed to maintain security while preserving programmability. Request Finance, meanwhile, positions itself as a comprehensive finance hub for stablecoins, crypto, and fiat, covering accounting, expenses, and compliance for enterprises.
