Alchemy Acquires Solana Developer DexterLab to Bolster Multi-Chain Web3 Expansion
Alchemy acquires Solana developer DexterLab to unify Ethereum and Solana development amid rising Web3 enterprise demand.
In a strategic move to enhance its multi-chain development capabilities, blockchain infrastructure firm Alchemy has acquired Solana-based developer DexterLab for an undisclosed sum. The acquisition, announced Friday via email, underscores Alchemy's commitment to supporting the growing demand for scalable Web3 enterprise solutions.
DexterLab has played a pivotal role in the Solana ecosystem, having developed infrastructure for prominent players such as Google and the Solana Foundation. Alchemy described the firm as a "go-to infrastructure provider," with proven expertise that will be instrumental in streamlining development across multiple blockchain networks.
"This acquisition allows us to bring Solana development into the same streamlined environment we've built for Ethereum," Alchemy stated. "Our goal is to simplify the process for teams building multi-chain applications by reducing fragmentation and technical complexity."
Solana's rapid growth has made it an increasingly attractive platform for developers. While Ethereum still dominates in terms of total value locked (TVL), Solana has been outperforming in key metrics such as user activity and transaction volume. Over the past three months, Solana has recorded more than 210 million active addresses compared to under 80 million across Ethereum and its Layer-2 networks. Solana has also processed approximately 4.75 billion transactions—substantially outpacing Ethereum's 1 billion.
The acquisition positions Alchemy to tap into Solana's surging momentum while reinforcing its status as a leading infrastructure provider for both Ethereum and Solana ecosystems. This cross-chain consolidation aligns with a broader industry trend towards interoperability and scalability in blockchain development.
Though the financial terms remain confidential, the acquisition signifies Alchemy's strategic bet on the future of multi-chain Web3 platforms. As institutional and enterprise interest in blockchain technology continues to rise, firms like Alchemy are racing to provide developers with seamless tools to build across diverse ecosystems.
