The native token of AB Chain experienced a dramatic price swing this week as World Liberty Financial (WLFI)—a decentralized finance protocol linked to the Trump family—announced the launch of its USD1 stablecoin on the AB blockchain. The news triggered a wave of trading activity that sent the AB token surging 52% in just four hours before a sharp selloff and subsequent rebound restored some market balance.

According to data from TradingView, AB’s price climbed rapidly following Wednesday’s announcement, peaking before retreating amid profit-taking, then recovering about 30% by early Thursday to trade near $0.0077. The volatility reflects heightened speculation around the chain’s expanding ecosystem, as investors digest the implications of integrating USD1 into AB’s decentralized finance infrastructure.

The partnership with WLFI marks a major milestone for AB DAO, which oversees the AB Chain network. The collaboration brings USD1—a dollar-pegged, fully backed stablecoin—into a high-throughput blockchain environment, designed to enable fast and low-cost transactions. WLFI described the token as “1:1 redeemable and built for institutional-grade stability,” emphasizing cross-chain functionality that allows USD1 to operate across multiple blockchains.

AB DAO said the move would strengthen AB Chain’s position as a platform for decentralized trading, lending, and liquidity services. The integration also supports AB Wallet, the network’s native application, which is preparing to roll out zero-fee USD1 transfers with near-instant settlement and compatibility across all chains that host the stablecoin. AB DAO added that it is exploring yield-generation features tied to USD1 as part of its effort to deepen user engagement.

The arrival of USD1 represents a strategic expansion for both projects. For WLFI, it extends its reach beyond its own DeFi base into new ecosystems, potentially enhancing liquidity and visibility for the stablecoin. For AB Chain, the collaboration adds a stable-value instrument that could attract developers, liquidity providers, and users seeking reliable settlement options within a fast-evolving digital finance landscape.

The partnership comes as WLFI’s own token has been on a rally, climbing over 60% in the past 10 days to about $0.15 at the time of writing. Market analysts attribute the move to growing demand for stablecoin infrastructure and speculation over WLFI’s rumored partnerships with several blockchain networks.

For AB Chain, the USD1 integration could serve as a catalyst for greater on-chain activity and adoption. Still, analysts caution that the network remains in its early stages and that the sharp volatility of its native token underscores the speculative nature of its market.

Whether AB Chain can convert this momentum into sustained growth will depend on execution—specifically, its ability to deliver on the promise of seamless, zero-fee payments and stablecoin-based financial services in a crowded DeFi arena.
