ABOUT KAMINO
Kamino's mission is to create liquidity and utility for every asset. We want the world's best investments to be available through the financial platforms people already trust, and we want investors to be able to borrow against what they own when they need liquidity, instead of having to sell.
Today, the most valuable assets in the world are often the least useful to own. Trillions of dollars sit in private markets, behind high minimums and holding periods that can run for years. Tokenization is starting to move these assets onto shared, programmable infrastructure, but putting an asset onchain is only the first step. To be useful, it still needs distribution, compliance, servicing, credit and liquidity.
Kamino already runs the credit and liquidity engine at scale. It is the largest credit protocol on Solana and the largest credit platform for real-world assets onchain, with more than $650 billion in cumulative transaction volume and more than $20 billion in loans originated.
Now we are building the rest of that system for institutions. Kamino recently named Yieldstreet co-founder Michael Weisz as CEO and is building a new HQ in New York, alongside the asset managers and financial platforms that will shape this market. Almost none of that market exists yet, and we intend to build it.
Build the team and management systems for Kamino's next stage of growth.
THE ROLE
Kamino is hiring a Head of People to build the team and management systems for our next stage of growth. As our senior People leader, you will work directly with the CEO and leadership team across hiring, organization design, performance, compensation and global People Operations.
This is a function-building role with substantial hands-on ownership. You will personally lead critical searches, coach managers and handle sensitive employee matters while establishing the systems that help people succeed. You will build the foundations first, then the People team required to scale them across our New York office and global organization.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Build and lead the People function. Own People strategy, workforce planning and budget. Advise leadership on organization design and build the team and specialist support Kamino needs as it scales.
- Own hiring outcomes. Lead recruiting across senior, technical and commercial roles, personally running critical searches. Establish a clear hiring bar and an effective assessment and closing process.
- Strengthen management and performance. Coach leaders and build practical systems for feedback, development, promotion and accountability. Handle difficult people decisions with sound judgment and discretion.
- Help people succeed at Kamino. Build onboarding, development and retention practices that support a high-performing team and connect the New York office with the global organization.
- Build compensation and rewards. Establish salary structures, performance incentives, long-term participation and benefits that support consistent hiring and reward decisions.
- Run global People Operations. Own the systems and processes behind employment, payroll and benefits coordination, and employee relations. Work with Legal and specialist partners across jurisdictions, protecting confidential information and keeping operations proportionate to Kamino’s scale.
WHAT YOU BRING
- 10+ years across People, Talent or Human Resources, including building or materially scaling a People function as a high-growth company grew from approximately 30–50 people to more than 150.
- Experience advising a founder, CEO or leadership team while remaining hands-on. You can translate company plans into organization design, hiring priorities and management capacity.
- End-to-end recruiting leadership across senior, technical and commercial roles, with personal ownership of critical searches and demonstrated improvements in hiring quality and speed.
- Experience strengthening managers and building practical performance, development and promotion systems. You communicate clearly and give direct feedback with empathy and respect.
- Experience building compensation and benefits programs, including salary structures, performance incentives and long-term participation.
- Hands-on People Operations and employee-relations experience, strong knowledge of U.S. and New York employment practices, and experience supporting international teams through local entities, employers of record and specialist counsel.
- Discretion and analytical judgment: you use People data to identify problems and evaluate results, handle sensitive matters carefully and act independently with urgency.
- Daily fluency with AI tools across recruiting and People operations, with rigorous output verification and protection of confidential information.
STRONGLY PREFERRED
- Experience in financial services, fintech, digital assets, AI or another complex technical company.
- Direct familiarity with digital assets or onchain financial markets.
- Experience building a senior team in New York while supporting a global organization.
- Experience designing equity, token or other long-term incentive programs.
WORKING AT KAMINO
You will work directly with senior leadership and partner closely with managers across the company. Finance and Legal will be important partners on compensation, benefits, employment structures, and sensitive employee matters. This is a senior function-building role with a substantial hands-on component. You will remain close to the work, from critical searches and manager coaching through compensation design and global People Operations. Some important work will cross time zones, and the role may involve occasional travel for company gatherings. This is a full-time role based in New York City. We work together in the office four days per week. Kamino may provide immigration sponsorship for an exceptional candidate who meets the experience bar and can work from New York.
