Bitcoin Enters Early Bull Market Phase After 24% Rally, but $83K Holds the Key
Bitcoin's 24% rally has pushed the asset into what on-chain analytics firm CryptoQuant describes as the initial phase of a new bull market, though the move lacks full confirmation until price clears the $83,000 threshold.
CryptoQuant analysts published their assessment this week, pointing to a shift in multiple market indicators that have flipped from bearish to bullish territory during the recent run-up. The firm stopped short of calling a full bull market, framing the current conditions as an early-stage setup that still requires a decisive break above $83,000 to be validated.
"Bitcoin has entered the initial phase of a new bull market after a 24% rally, with $83,000 remaining the key confirmation level."

The $83,000 level carries weight beyond being a round number. It represents a technical resistance zone where prior selling pressure has historically concentrated. A clean break above it would signal that buyers have absorbed enough supply to sustain a longer uptrend. Without that break, the current rally remains structurally ambiguous, susceptible to being reclassified as a bear market bounce rather than a genuine cycle turn.
CryptoQuant flagged one complicating factor: profit-taking. As price rises, holders who accumulated during lower levels are beginning to sell into strength. That dynamic is normal in early bull phases and does not by itself invalidate the setup, but it introduces friction. Elevated realized profit flows can cap price momentum and, if heavy enough, trigger short-term pullbacks that shake out weaker hands before any sustained advance resumes.
"Bitcoin's 24% rally has flipped key market indicators bullish, though rising profit-taking could bring near-term turbulence."
CryptoQuant analysts
The counter-case deserves equal weight. A 24% move off a local low is meaningful, but Bitcoin has staged comparable recoveries within broader downtrends before, only to roll over again. Macro conditions, including interest rate trajectory and broader risk-asset sentiment, remain variables that on-chain data alone cannot resolve. Regulatory developments, particularly around institutional access and stablecoin frameworks, add another layer of uncertainty that technical signals do not price in cleanly.
Historically, Bitcoin bull markets have followed a recognizable structure: a prolonged accumulation phase, an initial impulsive rally that flips sentiment, and then a confirmation break that draws in larger capital. The accumulation-to-markup transition is rarely clean. False breakouts above key levels, followed by retests, are common before price establishes a higher base and resumes upward. The $83,000 level functions as that litmus test in the current setup.
For traders and longer-term holders, the CryptoQuant analysis frames the next few weeks as a decision point. A weekly close above $83,000 would strengthen the early bull market thesis considerably and likely accelerate institutional positioning. A rejection at that level, particularly on high volume, would raise questions about whether the 24% rally has already exhausted its near-term energy. The setup is constructive, but the confirmation is still outstanding.
